Kaique Pacheco World Finals (Final) 2022 Recap

June 20, 2022

Kaique Pacheco finished third in the World Finals event, and Reserve PBR World Champion to eventual winner D. Swearingen in one of the most highly contested PBR World Championships in recent memory.  Kaique rode 5 of 8 bulls, highlighted by a 4th in Rd.’s 2 & 3, a 1st in round 4, and top 7 finishes in Rd.’s 6 & 7.  His event championship round buck off would prove to be the costliest of the season, where IF he had ridden for at least 91.25 points (and he had plenty of bull to score 91+) he would have elevated himself to the World Standings Lead, and force Swearingen to cover his last attempt.  But it was not meant to be and Kaique finished second in the world standings for the fourth time (2022 – 21, 2015 – 16).  If you remove Pacheco’s 2019 injury plagued season in which he finished 79th, from 2015 to 2022 his average season finish is a remarkable 2.8!

That being said, you should know that Kaique broke his foot in round 2, inside the bucking chutes prior to riding his bull.  He will never say it, and there are never any excuses but he came within one ride of potentially winning another world title.  By finishing 3rd in the event Kaique earned 480 world points and $174,000, with his yearend totals being 1,275 points, a second place finish in the world standings and $373,194 in season earnings

Injuries held Kaique to 22 PBR UTB events; 15 regular season, the world finals and he qualified and competed in six 15 / 15 Bucking Battle rounds.  He won two UTB events (Sioux Falls and Everett), he had five 90 point rides and lead the PBR UTB with 28 bull ridden.  His riding percentage of 54.90 % (28 of 51) was also the best for those at World Finals.  Kaique lead the series with nine event round wins, 3 of which were event championship rounds (also lead the series), he qualified and competed in 11 event championship rounds, had eight top 5 and ten top 10 finishes.

Kaique was drafted in the first round, second overall by the Nashville Stampede in the PBR Team series draft.
