Kaique Pacheco Billings 2021 Recap

Kaique Pacheco rode 3 of 4 bulls, and 4 of 5 when you include the 15 / 15 special round.   Highlights include a tie for Round 2 win, his 6th round win of the year; a second place finish in Round 3; and a third place finish in the event championship round.  Kaique finished second overall in the event and earned 121 world points.

Kaique rode his 15 / 15 Bucking Battle bull Saturday night and added to an already impressive bonus round career.  He finished second in the round and earned 49 world points.   When you include Billings, he has competed in 52 15 / 15 rounds, has a ride percentage of 38% (20 rides in 52 attempts), six of those 20 rides have been 90+ points, and all 20 rides have resulted in a top 5 finish.  His 6 round wins ties him for most career wins in PBR history.  He remains second in the PBR world standings with 962 points.

Kaique Pacheco went 1 for 3 with the lone highlight coming in round 2 when he placed 6th.  Kaique finished 12th in the event and earned 14 world points.  He is currently now second in the PBR world standings with 792 points.

Kaique failed to ride his 15 / 15 bucking battle attempt Saturday night.

Kaique Pacheco went 3 for 3, the only rider to do so en route to his series leading fourth event win (Arcadia, Glendale, Louisville, Nampa) to date.  Pacheco finished fourth in round 1, and won the event championship round, his fifth round win of the year.  Kaique has ridden a series leading 20 bulls (20 for 32 or 62.5%), 4 of which have come in event championship rounds which also leads the series.  Pacheco’s career-high for event wins is five, which he accomplished during his 2018 World Championship run.  He did not record his fourth event win that season until September 23, 2018.  Kaique is now halfway toward the PBR single-season record for event wins (8). Two-time World Champion Justin McBride won eight events during his 2007 championship season.

Kaique was fifth going into the final round where he selected Chiseled in the championship round draft and for the second week in a row he rode him to victory.

His 3rd 90 – point ride of the season (90.25) and 13th elite series 90 secured the event win and 125 world points.  Also, Kaique entered the Clovis, CA Touring Pro Division event prior to Nampa mid-week, went 1 for 2 to finish fourth and earn 7.5 world points and for the fourth consecutive week remains the number one rider in the world with 778 points.

In his only blemish of the weekend, Kaique failed to ride his 15 / 15 bucking battle attempt Friday night.

Kaique Pacheco went 0 for 2 in the Express Invitational event over the weekend.

It was No. 1 vs. No. 1 in the 15 / 15 Bucking Battle as Kaique was matched up with the current number one bull in the world standings Chiseled and they didn’t disappoint.  Pacheco won the round, his 6th career 15 / 15 round win and first since April 2018 when he covered the bull for 94 points.

It was his 2nd 90-point ride of the season and 12th elite series 90-point ride of his career.  94 points ties a career best for Kaique and marks his highest score while competing on the PBR elite series.  Kaique earned 59 world standings points and remains the number one rider in the world with 645.50 points.

Kaique Pacheco went 1 for 3 over the weekend, his lone ride coming in round 3 where he placed 6th.  Kaique finished 14th overall and earned 14 world points; he remains number one in the world standings with 586.50 points.  Pacheco continues to leads the UTB tour with 16 qualified rides.

Kaique Pacheco rode two of three bulls in the Lucas Oil event which proved to be enough for Kaique to win his league leading third UTB event of the year.  And with his third place finish in the 15 / 15 Bucking Battle Saturday night Pacheco earned a cumulative 179 world standings points to overtake the number one ranking in the world.  Kaique had numerous highlights this weekend as he won both rounds 1 and 2; he had ridden 9 straight bulls before bucking off his attempt in the event championship round (Kaique this season was 3 for 3 and had a perfect riding percentage in event championship rounds before that buck off).  The two round wins brings his season total to 3, tied for second among all riders.  His is currently riding at a career best clip of 65.22% this year, which leads all competitors with at least 3 bulls attempted.

Being ranked number one in the world is a familiar feeling for Kaique.  The 2018 World Champion was last on top in week 2 of 2020 and he enters the Easter weekend holiday with 572.50 world standing points, a 55-point lead over second place.

For the second consecutive event Kaique Pacheco rode three of three bulls, this time though he finished third in the event.  Kaique earned points in all three rounds placing 5th in round one, 6th in round 2 and 4th in the event champ round (Ride attached to the email) earning 80.50 standings points.   Having now ridden six straight bulls Pacheco remains second in the PBR world standings with 393.50 points.    Kaique reached a milestone this weekend in career earnings: the $11,264.42 in event earnings moved him into the PBR Top 10 All – Time in career earnings with $3,093,316.35.

Kaique Pacheco finished his Del Rio event with a buck off Friday night, going 0 for 2 for the event.  He fell to fifth in the PBR world standings with 193.50 points.  The Glendale Invitational saw a much better result.  Kaique dominated the field as the only rider to ride all three of his bulls en route to winning his second event of the season, and 16th PBR elite UTB series event of his career.  Watch his event clinching ride below.

Pacheco became the first rider to record multiple event wins this year.  He earned 119.50 world points and improved from fifth to second place in the PBR world standings with 313 points, 49 points from the top spot.
